Service Overview
 
Community Education and Crime Prevention Service (CECPS) employs diversified means to deliver crime prevention education programmes in the community, to prevent youngsters and citizens from committing crime, as well as to build a safe and harmonious society. With the vision of “crime prevention education at young age”, CES offers one-stop crime prevention education service for all schools in Hong Kong. Apart from providing services subvented by the Social Welfare Department, we also initiate new and creative education projects through applying funding from charity foundations and organizing fundraising events, and thus enhance the learning interests of students to build a law-abiding lifestyle and stay away from crime.

Major Tasks
 
School-based programmes
Through multi-media means and life education, CES offers various services at school, including talks facilitated by rehabilitated ex-offenders, groups, educational theatre, music sharing, etc. Apart from focusing on the undesirable consequences of committing crime, CES also emphasize to cultivate positive attributes in children and adolescents so as to strengthen their resilience.
 
Community Service
Organize diversified activities, such as exhibition, symposium, drama and singing performance, to disseminate the message of “fight crime” and “help the rehabilitated ex-offender reintegrate into the community”.
 
Fee
 
A nominal fee will be applied.
 
Service Hours
 
Monday to Friday Saturday Sundays and public holidays
9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m
9 a.m. to 12:00n.n. Closed
   
Application and Withdrawal
 
  • Service could be accessed through direct application by phone, fax, email, mail or referral.
  • The service is provided on voluntary basis.
  • Service users could apply for termination of service.
  • The staff could terminate the service upon professional judgment and mutual agreement made with the service users.
